Matteo Licitra was born in Milano, Italy, on 1951. He resided
mainly in Milano, Italy. He received his Doctorandus degree in architecture at
Milano Politecnico University on 1978. He made by himself his studies on Music and
piano performing.
His first piano performance "Crossing the Bridge" was held at Pera Palas
Öteli, Istambul, Turkey, August 1977. After this unique performance he
was involved in different business, District Heating (1978-1988), Medal
of Honour, presented in the year 1987, Henrik, Prince of Denmark, for
Danish district heating/cooling technology promotion in Italy. In 1989,
he was invited by Mr Albert Mayr, Professor at Phonology Institute,
Firenze Accademy of Music, to restarting the public performing.
Matteo Licitra, grandson of the wellknown disappeared architect and
designer Mr Gio Ponti.
From 1989 started with Ms Anna Mari the
collaboration on founding the LICITRA & MARI duet for the Art, the
Music, the Design, the Architecture and the Fashion, getting inspiration, among other things, from the work of Mr Gio Ponti and also taking cure of the
newly re-editing of objects designed by Mr Gio Ponti.
From 1997, after
closing the Duet Licitra &Mari, back to the music with Neoponti design
homeware items installations together with photographs and wall
paintings.

Matteo Licitra è nato a Milano, Italia nel 1951. Risiede prevalentemente a Milano. Si è laureato in achitettura al Politecnico di Milano nel 1978. Ha fatto ricerche e studi personali sulla musica realizzando performance pianistiche.
La sua prima performance pianistica "Crossing the Bridge" fu eseguita al Pera Palas
Öteli, Istambul, Turchia nell'Agosto del 1977.
Dopo questa performance, unica nel suo genere, si é occupato di differenti attività. che tra gli altri gli hanno fatto conseguire riconoscimenti prestigiosi come la medaglia d'onore, ricevuta nel 1987 da Henrik, Principe di Danimarca.
Il nonno di Matteo Licitra era il famoso, purtroppo scomparso, architetto e designer Gio Ponti.
Dal 1989 con Anna Mari iniziò una collaborazione fondando il duetto LICITRA & MARI per l'Arte, la Musica, l'Architettura, il Design e la Moda, prendendo tra l'altro ispirazione dal lavoro di Gio Ponti e anche prendendosi cura di ri-creare/ri-editare i magnifici oggetti disegnati da Gio Ponti.
Dal 1997, dopo lo scioglimento del duetto Licitra &Mari, è tornato alla musica con gli strumenti del "Neoponti design homeware" e alla realizzazioni di allestimenti con materiali fotografici e pittura murale.
