The general of the Narcos started the interrogation with seemingly stupid questions (so stupid that his assistant – a beginner with ideals and purposes, more than once was about to omit the video recording).
For instance he asked whether the sadist ever had venereal diseases and, more generally, which skin diseases he had as a child. He asked whether, by any chance, his parents were still alive, and what his father did (“Even if – he added – it was the most despicable job”). He didn’t ask anything about the mother (“Because my mother also worked in the house – he said – and yours too, I suppose, worked in the house). Then he pressed him about affective memories: his first masturbation (place, date, exact time of pleasure). Did he have regrets? The sadist reassured him: no regrets. The general evaluated the answer from the point of view of the criminal profile: the lack of regrets after the first masturbation, at about ten, without fear of God, that is, without the pedagogical consequence of punishment, is a sign of galloping deviance: only an asocial person plays with sex to amuse himself, the others do it because they are compelled by nature
